Gordon County Sheriff’s Office personnel attended advanced training in Litchfield, Kentucky last week, focusing on human tracking. The training lasted 5 days and included classroom instruction and field exercises. GCSO maintains two tracking dogs which are used both to track fugitives as well as search/rescue of lost/missing persons.

Gordon County Board of Commissioners Meeting is Tuesday, May 6th. With the work session starting at 5 p.m. and the regular meeting at 6 pm. On the agenda – Gordon County’s budget. Possibly, an update to the Ranger Community Center Project as well. As yet, the agenda is not released.

On Tuesday, May 6, Praise and Preparedness, a workshop for faith-based groups is being presented at The Depot. Courtney Taylor, Gordon County EMA director, helps get churches ready to respond to natural disasters.
