    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

August 13, 1944 — April 28, 2025

Wayne Ellis Hale, 80 of Cartersville, GA passed away on April 28, 2025, born in Bartow County, GA on August 13, 1944, he was the son of William Elzo and Margaret Deskie Amos Hale. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia (Verlon), Katherine, Faye and four brothers, Donald, Ronald, Chester and Amos.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 61 years, Martha Dale Hale; daughter, Jennifer Underwood (Joey); son, Russell Hale; grandchildren, Sydney, Jakob & Dylan; great grandchildren, Lincoln & Hadley. He is also survived by five sisters, Jeanette (James), Sue (Clifford), Jean (Steve), Ruby (Dennis), Gail; two brothers, Johnny (Dot), Alvin (Sandra) and sister in law, Dianne; as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and retired from Union Carbide Corporation with thirty-three years of service. Wayne was a devoted husband, father and great grandfather and loved his family. He never met a stranger, loved telling jokes and making everyone smile. He was a avid hunter, fisherman, loved gardening and being outside.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Affinis Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 2, 2025 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. David Baker officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with grandsons, Jakob Underwood, Dylan Hale; Nephews David Corbin, John Hale, Ricky Law, Nathan Patterson, Chris Howard and Kevin Law serving as pallbearers. Nephews, David Smith & Michael Law serving as honorary pallbearers.
