    Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Ice accumulations of 0.25 to 0.75 inches, with snow or sleet amounts of an inch or less.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Georgia.
    WHEN
    From late Friday night through Monday morning.
    IMPACTS
    Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

Recycling ready! Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful is the source for information about the newly arrived roll offs at the Harris Beamer and Dews Pond Compactor sites; four more are heading to our other sites in the next few weeks.

Monday at GNTC from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. all seniors from area high schools can meet with prospective employers that have immediate openings.

A new beer wine and liquor store is approved to open near Walmart on Belmont Drive – that passed at Calhoun’s last city council meeting. The minutes are posted here.  Curtis Parkway and Peters Street will also soon be home to a new liquor, beer, gas, and (State Approved) slot machine business. The machines, called ding-dings, are licensed at a rate of eight per day by the Georgia Lottery Corporation.

This classic area quartet was just coming off the air from a live performance on 900 AM in the 1960’s. Tune into Sunday Morning Gospel Time starting Sunday at 6 AM.
