GORDON COUNTY, GA — Gordon County Schools is proud to announce that Tim Watkins, Director of Transportation, has been named the Northwest Georgia RESA Transportation Director of the Year by the Georgia Department of Education’s Pupil Transportation Division.
This distinguished award recognizes Watkins for his exemplary leadership, commitment to safety, and dedication to improving transportation services for students and families. Since assuming the role in December 2019, Watkins has led a series of significant improvements that have transformed the school district’s transportation system.
Among his achievements, Watkins has implemented advanced routing technologies that have streamlined operations, reduced student ride times, and improved overall efficiency. He has also prioritized clear communication with families, introducing real-time updates and notifications that keep parents informed about bus schedules and expected arrival times.
