The Gordon County Board of Elections and Registration has announced that early voting for the Democratic Special Primary Runoff Election will take place from Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11.
All early voting will be held at the Gordon County Board of Elections and Registration Office, located inside the Gordon County Courthouse at 100 South Wall Street, Calhoun. Voting hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Monday, July 7.
In accordance with Georgia Code O.C.G.A. § 21-2-270, if fewer than one percent of the county’s registered voters participated in the original primary election for a given political party, only one polling location is required for the runoff. Based on this provision, the Gordon County Board of Elections voted unanimously to open only one polling place for the July 15 Democratic Special Primary Runoff Election.
Election Day voting on Tuesday, July 15, will be held at the Calhoun Recreation Department, located at 601 South River Street, Calhoun, GA, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Voter Eligibility for the Democratic Special Primary Runoff:
You must be a registered voter in Gordon County.
If you voted in the Republican Special Primary Election on June 17, you are not eligible to vote in the Democratic runoff.
If you voted in the Democratic Special Primary Election on June 17, you are eligible to vote in the runoff.
If you did not vote in either party’s Special Primary Election on June 17, you are eligible to vote in the Democratic runoff.
