CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has awarded a $5.5 million contract to resurface U.S. Highway 411 in Bartow County. The project will cover a 6.3-mile stretch from the Floyd County line to Hardin Bridge Road.
The work will be carried out by C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. and is expected to begin in the coming months.
Highway 411 has seen significant growth in traffic in recent years, driven by development along the corridor. Two new traffic signals were recently added, and GDOT officials expect the number of motorists to keep climbing as new industries move into the area between Cartersville and Floyd County.
The resurfacing project is part of more than $98 million in contracts GDOT awarded in June and contributes to the $2.2 billion in contracts awarded during Fiscal Year 2025.
Travel Advisory: Drivers should anticipate delays once work begins and are urged to slow down and use caution in construction zones. For up-to-date information on roadwork and traffic conditions, call 511, visit 511ga.org, or use the Georgia 511 mobile app.
