Mr. Jimmy J. Craig, age 86, of Ranger, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 31st, 2025, at his residence surrounded by loved ones.
Jimmy was born in Ranger, Georgia on March 10, 1939, to James and Lula Craig. Jimmy was a beloved member of Fairview Church of God. After retiring from the Birmingham News, he returned to his boyhood home in Ranger, where he enjoyed everything about country life. He loved animals, gardening, and rocking on the front porch with family and visitors.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Mark Smith; son, Jim Craig; and daughter, Carla Craig.
To honor his wishes, he will be laid to rest at Fain Cemetery in a private graveside service next to his wife of 66 years, Joyce Virginia Craig.
