UPDATE (8:20 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6): Deputies located the driver of the car at a private residence a short time after the incident. She was subsequently turned over to medical personnel for treatment.
On Friday evening, September 5, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a passenger vehicle crashed into Newtown Baptist Church. Deputy sheriffs and first responders quickly arrived on scene to assess the situation.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released additional details.
