CALHOUN — On Friday, September 5, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) held a dedication ceremony to officially open the new Region 1 Field Office in Calhoun. Sheriff Mitch Ralston attended the event, joining a large number of guests who gathered to mark the occasion.
The new building was named in honor of retired GBI Director Vernon M. Keenan, who previously served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Calhoun regional office for many years.
Sheriff Ralston praised the agency and the new facility, stating, “My Office has always enjoyed a close, working relationship with our colleagues in the GBI and we’re pleased that they have this wonderful, new facility.”
