The Voluntary Action Center (VAC) still has 58 spots open for its annual Senior Christmas Box program, which provides household essentials like soap, Kleenex, socks, and more to low-income Gordon County seniors age 62 and older who live alone or are homebound. Registration is first come, first served by calling 706-629-7283, ext. 104.
Meanwhile, the VAC Community Kitchen is asking the community to help stock up for the holidays. Donations of gravy, boxed stuffing, and canned cranberry sauce are being collected throughout September to prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Items may be dropped off at the kitchen or the office.
