CALHOUN, Ga. — September 15, 2025 — This October, AdventHealth Georgia is inviting communities across Northwest Georgia to shine a light on breast cancer awareness by joining the annual “Light Your Porch Pink” campaign.

The initiative encourages residents to replace their porch light bulbs with pink ones throughout the month, symbolizing support for those impacted by breast cancer and raising awareness of the importance of early detection.

“Seeing our community light up in pink is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of those impacted by breast cancer,” said Josefer Montes, executive director of marketing and brand at AdventHealth Georgia. “We hope this visible show of support continues to spark conversations and encourage loved ones to prioritize regular screenings.”

Breast cancer affects one in eight women, but when detected early, it is often treatable. AdventHealth is urging women to schedule their annual mammogram at one of its locations in Rome, Calhoun, or Chatsworth. With advanced 3D mammograms available in just 30 minutes, AdventHealth aims to make screenings as accessible as possible.

To help spread the movement, thousands of free pink light bulbs will be distributed beginning September 15 at several AdventHealth facilities across Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk, and Chattooga counties, including:

  • AdventHealth Gordon – East Entrance Lobby, North Entrance Lobby, and Edna Owens Breast Center (Calhoun)

  • AdventHealth Murray – Main Entrance Lobby (Chatsworth)

  • AdventHealth Redmond – Main Entrance Lobby, Women’s Center, and Outpatient Entrance (Rome)

  • AdventHealth Medical Group – Family and Occupational Medicine at Shorter Avenue (Rome), Family Medicine at Trion (Trion), and Family and Internal Medicine at Cedartown (Cedartown)

Participants are encouraged to share photos of their glowing pink porches on social media using the hashtag #PinkPorchGA, along with personal messages of remembrance, survivorship, or encouragement.
