    IMPACTS
    Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Gordon County Students Earn Top Academic Honors on GNTC Summer 2025 President’s and Dean’s Lists

Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) has announced its President’s and Dean’s List honorees for the summer 2025 semester, and several students from Gordon County are among those recognized for academic excellence.

Gordon County Honorees

President’s List
Earning a spot on the President’s List are:
Earl Anderson, Patricia Barrett, Scott Beutel, Ty Brown, Carson Butler, Lisa Echols, Samantha Hayward, Lexi Hill, Benjamin Iossa, Erica Perez, Erwin Romero, Stephanie Silva, Alexis Smith, and Andrew Young.

Dean’s List
Named to the Dean’s List are:
Amanda Arnold, Christopher Breeden, Heather Hubbard, Sarah Kent, Ronaldo Ramirez, and Elliott Sanders.

To qualify for the President’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit hours and achieve a grade point average of 3.8 or higher. The Dean’s List recognizes students who also carry a minimum of 12 credit hours and earn a GPA between 3.5 and 3.79.

GNTC officials congratulated all honorees across its service area for their hard work and dedication during the summer term. The college continues to highlight student achievement as a core part of its mission to provide high-quality workforce education in Northwest Georgia.
