Former Drug Court Coordinator Sentenced
Erin Ranee Young, 39, former Floyd County Drug Court coordinator, was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to felony sexual contact with a program participant. Prosecutors said she gave the participant special treatment. Defense cited personal hardships, but Judge Bryan Johnson ordered her to serve prison time after settling personal affairs.
Local Students Earn Academic Honors
Georgia Northwestern Technical College named its President’s and Dean’s List honorees for summer 2025. Unity Run 5K Returns Tuesday
The United Way of Gordon County will hold its 32nd Annual Unity Run 5K fundraiser Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 5 p.m. at the Calhoun Depot. Nearly 2,000 participants are expected, with proceeds supporting local partner agencies. This year’s theme, “Elvis: Running with the King,” encourages Elvis-inspired costumes for the family-friendly event.
