The Adairsville Police Department is grieving the loss of Sergeant Jimmy Shaw, who passed away on September 28, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Sgt. Shaw dedicated more than 30 years of his life to law enforcement, faithfully serving with honor and integrity. Known for his commitment to protecting others, he leaves behind a legacy of service and sacrifice that will long be remembered by his colleagues and community.
In a statement, the department shared words of comfort, quoting 2 Corinthians 5:8: “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” The message reflects their belief that while Sgt. Shaw will be deeply missed, he is now at peace.
The department asks the community to keep Sgt. Shaw’s family, friends, and law enforcement family in their prayers during this difficult time.
