AdventHealth Gordon to “Light the Hospital Pink”
AdventHealth Gordon invites the community to the annual “Light the Hospital Pink” event at 7 p.m. at the Edna Owens Breast Center. Part of the Pink Porch Campaign for breast cancer awareness, the event will include a prayer of dedication and free pink flashlights and glowsticks, while supplies last. Guests are encouraged to wear pink.
Sheriff’s Office Welcomes New Bloodhound, Max
Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston has introduced Max, a 12-month-old rescued bloodhound. Max, named by Tolbert Elementary students, will assist in tracking fugitives and locating missing persons. He will work with Detective Cody Jones as part of the K9 team, strengthening search and rescue efforts and community engagement.
Calhoun Community Mourns Eddie Reeves
The Calhoun City Schools system and local community are mourning the loss of Eddie Reeves, former Board Chair and dedicated civic leader. Reeves served in multiple leadership roles, including with the Chamber of Commerce and United Way, leaving a lasting impact on education and youth initiatives in Gordon County.
