Breast Cancer Awareness Event Today:
The Gordon County Health Department is hosting a breast cancer awareness event today (Oct. 6) from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. at 310 N. River St., Calhoun. Free breast exams, refreshments, door prizes, and gift bags will be available. Appointments: 706-624-1444; walk-ins welcome.

VAC Thanksgiving Food Drive Underway:
The Voluntary Action Center Community Kitchen is collecting Thanksgiving food items through October, including canned yams, boxed stuffing, pie filling (apple/pumpkin), and cornbread mix. Donations can be delivered to 343 S. Wall St., Calhoun.
