Calhoun High to Dedicate Lady Jackets Softball Field
Calhoun High will honor Coach Diane Ralston-Smith with a dedication ceremony for the Lady Jackets Softball Field on Friday, Oct. 17. A pre-game reception runs 6–6:45 p.m. in the STEM/COLA Lab, followed by on-field recognition at 6:50 p.m., celebrating her lasting impact on generations of athletes.

Calhoun City Schools Hosts Fall Governance Training
Calhoun City Schools held its annual Fall School Governance Team Training on Oct. 13, bringing together district leaders to review governance roles, strategic planning, and upcoming initiatives. Topics included succession planning, Cognia Accreditation prep, Charter System funds, and input on the 2026–2027 school calendar.

Feeding the Needy Calhoun Plans Thanksgiving Event
The 2nd annual Feeding the Needy Calhoun will provide a free Thanksgiving meal Thursday, Nov. 27, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., at Calhoun First United Methodist Church. Volunteers and donations are needed to support the full meal, which will be offered dine-in or carry-out. Contact Dr. Walter Harris at 706-263-4584 to help.
