Approximately 1,000 North Georgia EMC customers are without power this afternoon in the Dews Pond, Cash Road, Knight Bottom, and Covington Bridge areas.
The outage was reported earlier today, and NGEMC officials say crews are currently on-site working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. The cause of the outage has not yet been released.
Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to exercise caution, especially when traveling, and to avoid any downed lines. NGEMC advises customers to report additional outages or hazards through the EMC outage portal or by calling their service line.
