Calhoun City Schools is celebrating significant districtwide gains following the release of the Georgia Department of Education’s 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). The latest results show strong progress across all grade levels, improvements in closing achievement gaps, and continued academic growth for key student groups. Early grades and Calhoun Middle School demonstrated notable advancement, while Calhoun High School maintained its strong record in college and career readiness.
The CCRPI measures school and district performance across five key components: Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, Readiness, and Graduation Rate. This year’s results reflect the district’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality, well-rounded educational experiences for all students.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their hard work and dedication reflected in this year’s CCRPI results,” said Dr. Michele Taylor, Superintendent of Calhoun City Schools. “These scores highlight our district’s continued commitment to academic achievement, growth, and preparing our students to be lifelong learners in the pursuit of excellence.”
2025 CCRPI Highlights
Progress: District score increased from 80.3 to 86.4, outperforming the state average.
Closing Gaps: Scores increased across all schools, signaling improvement for student groups. CCS surpassed the state average in closing gaps at both the elementary and high school levels.
Content Mastery: The district reported overall gains from FY24 and is above the state average at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Readiness: CCS and all individual schools exceeded the state average. “Beyond the Core” opportunities remain exceptionally strong districtwide, with participation reaching at or near 100% across schools.
Graduation Rate: Calhoun High School continues to lead, posting a 97.7% graduation rate—10.5 points higher than the Georgia average.
“This year’s College and Career Ready Performance Index scores show strong improvements in our students’ academic achievement and their preparation for life,” said State School Superintendent Richard Woods. “They also point the way toward areas where we can continue to grow. I am proud of the teachers, leaders, families, and students whose hard work is reflected in these results. These are not just numbers—they represent impact for 1.7 million children across Georgia, and that’s what matters most.”
As the district celebrates these achievements, Calhoun City Schools remains focused on strengthening literacy outcomes and deepening student mastery at every grade level. Strategic initiatives aimed at sustaining and expanding academic success are already underway.
