Traffic Accident Closes Oothcalooga Street Monday Night

Jeffrey M. Hood Appointed to CCS Board of Education
Calhoun City Schools has appointed local attorney Jeffrey M. Hood to the vacant Post 4 seat. GDA Lifts HPAI Control Area in Gordon County
The Georgia Department of Agriculture has lifted the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) Control Area in Gordon County after completing all required testing with no new detections.
More than 10,600 birds were tested, all returning negative results. The 10-kilometer zone around the affected farm is now cleared, and normal operations may resume. Commissioner Tyler Harper called it a major step forward but emphasized continued vigilance to protect Georgia’s poultry industry.
