• Poultry Operation Denied in Ranger
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to deny a second proposed poultry operation on Taylor Town Road. Commissioners Chad Steward, Kevin Cunningham, and Bud Owens supported the denial, while Randy Abernathy and Kurt Sutherland opposed it.

• Camp Misty Mountain to Close
Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta announced the closure of Camp Misty Mountain in Armuchee after a multi-year review citing high maintenance costs. Resources will shift to Camp Timber Ridge and Camp Meriwether. The camp and Lake Marvin will remain open for activities through early spring, with 2026 reservations being relocated.
