The University of Georgia secured its third SEC Championship in five years on Saturday, defeating Alabama 28–7 in a decisive performance. Among the standout moments was a pivotal play by former Calhoun High School standout Cole Speer, Class of 2022.
Speer made a major impact on special teams when he blocked an Alabama punt, giving the Bulldogs prime field position. Georgia capitalized quickly, as quarterback Gunner Stockton connected with running back Roderick Robinson for a touchdown on the ensuing drive.
The victory adds another title to Georgia’s recent dominance in the conference, with Speer’s contribution marking a proud moment for Calhoun High School fans.
