Deadly Crash on Hwy 41 in Adairsville
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Thursday afternoon near the Gordon County line. Preliminary reports indicate a red Toyota Camry, traveling southbound, was passing other vehicles in a no-passing zone when it swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The Camry struck a southbound commercial vehicle, causing the CMV’s tire to detach and hit a northbound KIA Optima. The Toyota then overturned multiple times. The driver of the Camry died at the scene. Hwy 41/GA 3 was closed for about two hours during the investigation.

Community Invited to Say Goodbye to Billy Bearden Center
Calhoun residents will have one last chance to visit the Billy Bearden Center before its planned demolition. The Calhoun Recreation Department is hosting a public open house today, Friday, Jan. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 601 S. River St., allowing the community to reflect on the center’s history and significance.

NWGACIL to Host Gordon County Spotlight Community Meeting
