Mr. Hubert Lee Long
September 2, 1934 — January 14, 2026

Mr. Hubert Lee Long, age 91 of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026.

Mr. Long was born in Murray County, Ga., on September 2nd, 1934, a son of the late Hughs Long and the late Bessie Singleton Long. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Barton Long; three brothers, Will Dee Long, Martin Long and Junior Long; two sisters, Kathryn Serritt, Betty Walraven. Hubert lived life doing the things he loved most. He was a proud member of the Resaca Masonic Lodge and found great joy in flying as a private pilot. Whether working on the farm, hunting, or simply spending time outdoors, Hubert felt most at peace in nature. He especially loved the freedom of the open road while riding his motorcycles. Above all, Hubert was a devoted member of Newtown Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life.

Survivors include two nieces, Dee Dee Long-Hollingsworth (Brent) and Kecia Cafiero (Steve); one great-nephew, Jeremy Dean (April); special cousins, Dell Barton McBee and Carolyn Davis Jackson (Jerry); special friend, Shirley McIntyre.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2026, at 3 PM at Newtown Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Brent Hollingsworth, Jeremy Dean, Gary Mayhugh, Tom Dooley, Jeff Rogers, and Jeff Dixon.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16th, from 1 PM until 3 PM at Newtown Baptist Church.
