Faye Langston
December 24, 1939 — January 14, 2026

Joy Faye Langston, 86, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2025, at the Oaks in Fairmount. She was born in Gordon County, Georgia, on December 24, 1939. She was a graduate of Calhoun High School, and prior to her retirement, she was employed by Goodyear Industries of Calhoun for over 30 years.

She was a loving mother, sister, and friend to many in her lifetime. In her own words, “love is best experienced when given away.” She enjoyed reading, writing, creating, and traveling. She was a woman with broad horizons and sought to share the light of the Lord in all her experiences and relationships. Faye was sure to say that God is love and that we should always love others.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Langston; her parents, Charles Parker Sr. and Buna Allen Parker; her brothers and sisters, Charles Parker Jr., Duell Parker, Roland Parker, Sue Dover, Mildred Casteel; and her son, Chuck Langston. She has several surviving family members, including sister Jeanne (Jim) Hobgood, daughter Sandy (Alan) Johnson, and sons Jeff (Amanda) Langston and Tim (Sharon) Langston. She has 12 grandchildren, Misty (Bradley) Bennett, Josh (Keara) Cochran, Nick (Jennifer) Cochran, Amanda (Megan) Johnson, Tiffany Whitehead, Heather (Tay) Reese, Ashley (CJ) Bell, Alex (Katelyn) Haynes, Ashton (Cole) Pelfrey, TJ (Delaney) Langston, Katelyn (Jacob) Spellman, and Kristen (Nathaniel) Green. She also has 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a series of nieces and nephews. Faye was the matriarch of a great family legacy and will continue to hold a special place in the hearts of many.

A service to celebrate the life of Joy Faye Langston will be held on Saturday. January 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM City of Refuge Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17th, beginning at 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM at City of Refuge. Burial will follow the service in Fain Cemetery.
