April 29, 1940 — January 16, 2026

Marvin Otto Woody, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born in Ranger, Georgia, on April 29, 1940, to the late William Otto Woody and Cappolla Jordon Woody.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughters, Paulette “Polly” Woody, and Kimberly Carol Woody; his sister, Mary Helen Watson.

Marvin is survived by his precious wife for 65 years, Jewel Hall Woody; daughter,Tricia (Neal) Crump;; grandchildren, Kip and Jennifer Crump, Kristen and Brandon Williams; great grandchildren, Keylee Williams, Kelly Crump, Kason Williams, Josden Crump; brothers, Randall (Donna) Woody, Stanley (Terri) Woody, Mickey (Shelia) Woody; sisters, Sandra (Larry) Rogers, Joan (Doug) Sumner

He retired from Shaw Industries after 40 years of service and also served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1966.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM til 1:00 PM at Crane Eater Community Church.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Crane Eater Community Church, with Pastor Paul Gay officiating. Donna Gay will be in charge of the music. Burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers make contributions to Crane Eater Community Church building fund.
