Curtis Hubert Mathis
March 6, 1947 — January 16, 2026

Curtis Hubert Mathis, 78, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born in Dalton, Georgia, on March 6, 1947, to the late Lester Mathis and Marie Barnes Mathis.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Lester Mathis Jr. and Donald Mathis.

Mr. Mathis is survived by his precious wife for 51 years, Barbara “Ann” Pate Mathis; son, Chad (Rebecca) Mathis; brothers, James Mathis, Richard (Betty) Mathis; sister, Elmarie (Edward) Celatka; grandchildren, Ashley “Grace” Mathis, and Halie Mathis.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Stacy Hensley officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Curtis Hubert Mathis.
