Calhoun Police to Provide Transportation to Warming Shelters During Winter Weather Event

Calhoun Police Chief Tony Pyle announced that the Calhoun Police Department will offer transportation to local warming shelters during the upcoming winter weather event to help ensure residents have access to safe, warm shelter.

According to Chief Pyle, the service will be available to anyone within the city who needs assistance reaching a warming shelter as temperatures drop and hazardous weather conditions move into the area.

The department’s goal is to protect vulnerable residents and reduce the risks associated with exposure to extreme cold, particularly for those without reliable transportation.

Residents in need of transportation to a warming shelter are encouraged to contact the Calhoun Police Department for assistance as weather conditions worsen.
