Calhoun City Schools officials say they are closely monitoring a Winter Storm Watch that remains in effect for the area as they prepare for any potential impacts to school operations.
District leaders emphasized that the safety of students and staff remains their top priority as weather conditions continue to be evaluated.
Out of an abundance of caution, all student activities scheduled for Saturday and Sunday have been canceled. The cancellations include athletic events as well as Calhoun Community Education Driver’s Education classes.
At this time, school will remain in session on Friday, January 23. After-school athletic events scheduled for Friday at Calhoun High School will also proceed as planned.
School officials thanked families and staff for their continued cooperation and flexibility as safety decisions are made. Parents and community members are encouraged to continue monitoring official Calhoun City Schools communication channels for updates as additional information becomes available.
