GCF&R Responds to Resaca House Fire; Two Minor Injuries Reported

Gordon County Fire & Rescue responded to a residential structure fire Monday night, Jan. 26, 2026, at a home located at 175 Walker Street in Resaca.

GCF&R units were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. and responded under an automatic aid agreement with Whitfield County Fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residence approximately 50 percent involved with fire.

Crews made an aggressive interior attack and were able to quickly bring the fire under control, preventing further extension and limiting additional damage to the structure.

Two minor injuries were reported as a result of the incident. One civilian sustained minor burns, and one firefighter suffered a minor injury. Both individuals were treated at the scene and are expected to make a full recovery.
