The Gordon County Board of Commissioners will consider several administrative, budgetary, and public safety-related items when it meets Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Judicial Building Assembly Room located at 101 South Piedmont Street.

The evening will begin with a work session at 5 p.m., followed by the regular session at 6 p.m., during which commissioners will take action on new business items.

Among the items on the agenda is a request from county administration to approve a resolution establishing a new Community Events Center Department. Commissioners will also consider approval of a director position for the proposed department, along with a $50,000 budget transfer from the General Fund Contingency to support salary and wages, employee benefits, legal services, communications, operational supplies, and small equipment.

In additional business, the board will consider awarding a three-year proposal for debris removal services to Southern Disaster Recovery, DRC Emergency Services LLC, and Crowder Gulf. The agreement would support the county’s response and recovery efforts following severe weather or other emergency events.

Emergency preparedness is also on the agenda, with commissioners set to consider ratifying a contract with North Georgia Consulting Group for development of the county’s 2027 Hazard Mitigation Plan. Acceptance of the award for the plan was previously approved during the August 19, 2025 meeting.

Public safety infrastructure items include a request from E 9-1-1 officials to approve a $3,784 annual service plan and preventative maintenance agreement with GB Technologies Inc. for UPS units. The expense has been budgeted for Fiscal Year 2026.

Commissioners will also review a proposed $22,000 budget amendment increasing funding to a designated general ledger account, as well as a request from Risk Management to approve a $28,054 quote from TK Elevator Corporation for elevator repairs at the Gordon County Courthouse.

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners meetings are open to the public.
