10:45 a.m. update: Snow continues to fall across Gordon County this morning as the Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until this evening. Sheriff’s patrols report worsening conditions on some roadways, particularly in the Resaca–Sugar Valley area. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, as higher elevations, bridges, and overpasses are especially prone to icing.
Secondary roads are currently more hazardous than state highways. Officials strongly advise residents to avoid unnecessary travel while snow-related hazards persist.
Earlier this morning – 8:15 a.m.: Light snowfall began accumulating on county roadways overnight and into the morning hours. Patrols noted a light dusting in some areas, with snow expected to stick to roads and other cold surfaces as temperatures drop. Motorists were cautioned to remain alert for slick or frozen conditions and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
Authorities continue to monitor conditions and encourage residents to stay informed through updates from local officials.
