Calhoun High School is celebrating the achievements of three of its students who have been selected as semifinalists for the prestigious 2026 Governor’s Honors Program.
Stephanie Gallardo-Brito and Maria Urdapilleta Zarate were recognized in Visual Arts, while Jacob Bateman earned a semifinalist spot in Music/Voice.
Chosen from more than 1,000 applicants across the state, these students stood out for their exceptional talent and dedication to the Fine Arts. Advancing to the semifinalist stage of this highly competitive program is a significant accomplishment, highlighting their hard work and creativity.
“Way to represent, Jackets!” school officials said, praising the students for their achievements and for bringing pride to the Calhoun community.
The Governor’s Honors Program provides advanced educational opportunities to Georgia’s most gifted high school students and is widely regarded as one of the state’s most competitive honors programs.
