Two people sustained minor injuries during a residential fire in Gordon County early Saturday morning.
Gordon County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched around 5:45 a.m. on February 14, 2026, to a reported house fire at 648 Gee Road in Calhoun. According to Fire Rescue Chief Heath Derryberry, two civilians suffered burns while attempting to put out the flames before firefighters arrived. The injuries were described as minor.
The fire has been ruled accidental. Officials reported that the home sustained extensive damage.
This incident marks at least the 10th residential fire Gordon County Fire Rescue has responded to since Thanksgiving week.
