The City of Calhoun will honor former City Councilman Ray Denmon with a special designation recognizing “Ray Denmon Day” in the city.
During the Calhoun City Council meeting on Jan. 26, 2026, Councilmember Bruce Potts recommended the designation in honor of Denmon’s service to the community. The recommendation was approved by council members and will be held at The Downtown Calhoun Depot.
A special reception celebrating Denmon will be held Monday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 7 p.m., prior to the regular City Council meeting. During the reception, Denmon will be presented with an official proclamation recognizing Ray Denmon Day in Calhoun.
The public is invited to attend the reception and join city leaders in honoring Denmon for his contributions to the community.
