Bob James Oblander
October 9, 1929 — February 25, 2026

Bob James Oberlander, age 96 of the Miller Ferry Community of Gordon County, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at AdventHealth Gordon.

Bob was born on October 9, 1929, son of the late Huldrich Oblander and Bertha Roemer. He grew up near Shattuck, Oklahoma on a wheat and barley farm. He went to Keene for his College education and entered the military during the Korean era at Presido, San Francisco. He lived there and worked as a private Medical Technologist in Mill Valley. He raised two kids there, retired and moved to Georgia in 2000.

Bob is survived by: his wife, Jeanette Tornoe Oblander; one son Bruce Oberlander; one daughter, Robyn Oberlander Stearns; a nephew, Gene Belz; four grandchildren, Sarah Jones and her husband Brian, Heather Epperson and her husband Travis, Rachel Klein and her husband Kevin, Katelyn Sharp and her husband Justin; ten great-grandchildren, Ethan Epperson, Avarie Epperson, Logan Jones, Ian Jones, Cooper Jones, Pierce Jones, Levi Klein, Oliver Llein, Rawan Sharp, and Milo Sharp.

A celebration of life and memorial service will be announced later.
