The Downtown Calhoun Farmers Market will return for the 2026 season this spring, opening earlier than in previous years and bringing fresh local products and community events back to City Park.

The market is scheduled to open Saturday, May 23, and will run through Saturday, Sept. 19. It will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon at City Park, located at 308 N. Wall Street in downtown Calhoun.

Organizers say the market is building on strong momentum from last season, when more than 10,000 shoppers visited the downtown event.

“The Downtown Calhoun Farmers Market has truly become one of our community’s most loved traditions,” said Lacey Fuquea. “Seeing thousands of shoppers come downtown to support local farmers and makers shows just how much our community values fresh food and local business. We are excited to kick off the season earlier this year and build on that momentum with even more opportunities for families, farmers and small businesses to connect.”

In addition to fresh food and handmade goods, the market also serves as a gathering place for the community. Popular themed events such as Kids Day and Tomato Week are expected to return this season, along with additional special programming that will be announced later.

Vendor applications for the 2026 season are now open. Interested farmers, food producers and artisans can apply through the market’s new website at DowntownCalhounFarmersMarket.com. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 18.

The Downtown Calhoun Farmers Market is owned and coordinated by the Downtown Development Authority of the City of Calhoun. The market aims to strengthen the agricultural economy in Calhoun and Gordon County by connecting local farmers, growers and small businesses directly with the community.

Vendors typically offer a wide variety of products including fresh produce, meats, eggs, honey, jams and jellies, artisan cheeses, baked goods, coffee and tea, fresh-cut flowers, and handmade or handcrafted items.

Community members are encouraged to follow the Downtown Calhoun Farmers Market on social media and visit the website for updates, event details and vendor information.
