Residents and visitors are advised that the playground located on the “old side” of South River Park, near the baseball fields at 601 South River Street, is temporarily closed.
The closure comes as the existing playground equipment is being removed to make way for a brand-new installation. City officials emphasize that the area is off-limits for safety reasons while work is underway.
“The playground space is officially closed until the new equipment is installed and ready for use,” a city spokesperson said. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to share the upgraded playground with the community soon.”
Parents and children are encouraged to use other park areas during the renovation period. The city promises updates on the project’s progress and the grand reopening once construction is complete.
