Homestead Exemption Deadline Approaching
Gordon County homeowners have until April 1, 2026 to apply for a homestead exemption. Officials say a variety of state and local exemptions are available, including additional savings for residents ages 65, 70, and — new this year — 75.
Homeowners who recently reached one of these age milestones are encouraged to request a “homestead checkup” to ensure they’re receiving the maximum benefit.
Applications are open now and will also be accepted during the property tax appeal period later this spring.
