GBI Investigates Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Bartow County:
The GBI is investigating a Tuesday officer-involved shooting that left 45-year-old Justin Eric Hardin of Canton dead. Authorities say Hardin fled during an attempted arrest tied to a drug investigation, leading to a brief pursuit that ended under the I-75 overpass on Highway 20. After refusing commands, Hardin allegedly fired at deputies, who returned fire. No deputies were injured. A passenger, Angela Green of Acworth, was arrested, and a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was found in the vehicle. The case will be reviewed by the district attorney once the investigation is complete.
