CALHOUN, GAGordon County Schools officials have announced the appointment of Mr. William Bryant as the new assistant principal of Red Bud Middle School, following approval at the April 13 Board of Education meeting.

Bryant currently serves as Transition Center Coordinator for the school system, where he plays a key role in overseeing student discipline, academics, testing, and daily operations. In that position, he also supervises staff and works closely to support student success across multiple areas.

With nearly two decades of experience in education, Bryant brings a diverse background spanning both elementary and middle school levels. He began his career with Gordon County Schools in 2008 at Gordon Central High School and has since worked in special education, physical education, and general classroom instruction.

Bryant is also well known within the Red Bud community for his leadership in athletics. From 2018 to 2024, he served as athletic director and head football coach at Red Bud Middle School, where he coordinated athletic programs, supervised staff, and contributed to schoolwide leadership and communication efforts.

In a statement, Bryant expressed enthusiasm about returning to the school in a new role.

“Red Bud Middle School is truly a special place filled with exceptional students, dedicated staff, and a strong sense of community,” Bryant said. “I am honored and excited to return, and I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces while also building new relationships. Together, I am confident we will continue to create an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.”

School leaders say Bryant’s combination of classroom experience, administrative leadership, and community connection makes him a strong addition to the school’s leadership team as Red Bud Middle School continues its focus on student achievement and growth.
