As early voting for the May 19 General Primary enters its fourth day, turnout in Gordon County remains below expectations. While 160 voters cast ballots on Wednesday, the total number of votes through midweek stands at 444. With more than 39,000 active registered voters in the county, participation has been relatively slow.

This local trend contrasts sharply with activity across Georgia and the 11th Congressional District, where early voting is off to a record-breaking start. Statewide, more than 35,000 ballots were cast on the first day alone—a 29% increase compared to the 2022 primary. Nearby counties, including Cherokee and Cobb, are reporting significantly higher turnout, with Cherokee ranking among the top counties in the state.

Voting Information
Early voting continues at the Gordon County Courthouse Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Voters will also have two Saturday opportunities on May 2 and May 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
