Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston says he is recovering after experiencing a cardiovascular issue early Sunday morning.
In a statement released through the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, Ralston said he was hospitalized at AdventHealth Gordon, where medical staff quickly treated the issue.
“I was very fortunate and I feel like the Lord had His hand on me and guided the medical staff here,” Ralston said. “I am feeling much better now and expect to be home tomorrow.”
The sheriff expressed his gratitude to the hospital staff, as well as to the many people who have reached out with messages of support.
“I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has called, texted, visited, or reached out to me today,” Ralston said. “The concern everyone has expressed and shown means so very much to me and my family. I am thankful for my family and friends, and all the wonderful folks here in our community.”
Ralston also thanked the staff at AdventHealth Gordon for their quick and skilled care following the medical emergency.
The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office shared the sheriff’s statement Sunday, and Ralston said he expects to return home on Monday as he continues his recovery.
