Gordon County Board of Commissioners Meeting: The Board holds a packed meeting today at the Judicial Building.
Work Session (5:00 PM): Includes a Parks and Recreation report, recognition for the Georgia APCO Dispatcher of the Month, and a review of the LOST, SPLOST, and FLOST reports.
Regular Session (6:00 PM): Features a public hearing on a poultry operation expansion (CUP-26-002), the appointment of Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC as county auditor, and several Sheriff’s Office requests including a $492,000 amendment for food services, a $539,402 renewal for jail medical services, and the purchase of a 2026 Explorer from Prater Ford for $44,150, funded by 2024 SPLOST.
Other Business: Includes a new Storm Water and Erosion Manager position, the FY27 Georgia Indigent Defense Services Agreement, and a liquor license change for Owen’s Grocery.

Data Center & Election News: City leadership is exploring appointing a citizen advisory board for data center inputs. Additionally, the Gordon County Board of Elections issued a public notice regarding unauthorized mailers from Ready to Register Inc.; residents are urged to verify their registration status at Georgia’s “My Voter Page”.
