Gordon County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire on Tuesday around 12:30 PM in the Sonoraville community along Hammond Road, according to Chief Heath Derryberry. Fire crews arrived to find the garage area actively involved in flames. Personnel quickly confirmed all occupants were safely accounted for and extinguished the fire. The structure sustained moderate damage resulting in several thousand dollars in losses. Southern Replacement is actively assisting the displaced family with temporary placement.
