One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Highway 225 in Gordon County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
GSP says a trooper from Post 43 in Calhoun responded to the crash at Highway 225 and Craigtown Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14.
According to the investigation, a 2020 Buick Enclave driven by 54-year-old Maria Feliciano of Kissimmee, Florida, was traveling south on Craigtown Road. Feliciano stopped at a stop sign before attempting to cross Highway 225 and continue onto Newtown Church Road.
GSP says Feliciano failed to yield and struck the left rear of a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 driven by 73-year-old Danny Smith of Chatsworth, which was traveling north on Highway 225.
The impact caused the S-10 to rotate before it struck a southbound 2026 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 40-year-old Pauline Smith of Chatsworth. GSP noted that Pauline Smith and Danny Smith are not related.
The S-10 then overturned and came to rest on its roof in the southbound lane of Highway 225.
Danny Smith was taken by private vehicle to AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Feliciano was cited for failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.
