Health officials emphasize an urgent need amid severe summer shortages, noting that donations serve as a vital lifeline for local patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatments, and trauma care. Importantly, 100 percent of the blood collected today stays right here in Gordon County to directly support local patients.

In community outreach, the George Chambers Resource Center received brand-new flooring for its Training Room yesterday thanks to a partnership with the United Way of Gordon County and CFL Flooring. A dedicated crew from CFL’s US-41 South facility installed their specialized Acoustic Laminate flooring, eliminating trip hazards and reducing noise for individuals with sensory sensitivities. United Way Executive Director Claire Norman and GCRC Executive Director Brandy McConnell both praised the effort for creating a safer, quieter environment for life skills and vocational training.
