Country music star Megan Moroney is putting her own spin on one of college football’s most recognizable television themes.
As the SEC Network begins its 13th fall season, the network has tapped the Georgia-bred singer and songwriter to revamp the theme song and opening sequence for SEC Nation, the network’s weekly traveling pre-game show.
SEC Nation debuted August 28, 2014, featuring a customized version of Robert Randolph and The Family Band’s “Take The Party.” Randolph worked with network producers to create custom lyrics for “Party Wherever We Go,” an SEC-themed version designed to capture the sights, sounds and energy of a Southeastern Conference football tailgate.
Twelve years later, Moroney has recorded a new version of the song, bringing a fresh sound to the theme as the SEC now features 16 teams.
“I am so excited to be singing this year’s SEC Nation theme song…as always, Go Dawgs,” Moroney said.
Viewers will hear the complete new theme during the first SEC Nation broadcast of the season, when the show travels to Atlanta for the 2026 Aflac Kickoff Game between Auburn and Baylor.
SEC Nation Presented by Johnsonville will air at 9 a.m. Eastern each Saturday and has been expanded to three hours this season. The program will be followed by Marty and McGee Presented by Old Trapper.
The show returns to college football tailgates, stadiums and sidelines with new host Matt Barrie leading the desk. He will be joined by returning SEC Nation personalities Tim Tebow, Roman Harper and Paul Finebaum, along with newcomers Chase Daniel and Marion Crowder.
Marty Smith and Ryan McGee will also have an expanded role in the SEC Nation coverage ahead of Marty & McGee Presented by Old Trapper, which airs from noon to 12:45 p.m.
Moroney, who grew up in Georgia, has quickly become one of country music’s biggest stars. Her accomplishments include more than 5.3 billion global streams and multiple platinum-certified hits, including “Tennessee Orange” and “Am I Okay?”
Her 2024 album Am I Okay? became one of the year’s biggest Billboard 200 debuts by a female country artist and helped launch a sold-out headlining tour that broke attendance records at several venues.
Moroney has also earned numerous honors, including New Female Artist of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards, New Artist of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards and the first-ever Best Country award at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
She is entering a new era with her third studio album, Cloud 9, and a major international tour. Now, her voice will also provide the soundtrack to SEC football Saturdays.
