NASCAR heads to Darlington Raceway Sunday for 500 miles of racing in one of the most celebrated events on the Cup Series schedule — the Cook Out Southern 500.
The race is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. ET Sunday, September 6, at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina. Drivers will battle for 367 laps around the historic speedway, covering a total distance of 501.32 miles.
Georgia 101.7 FM WJTH will have coverage of the race following Atlanta Braves baseball.
The Braves take the air first Sunday, and once the baseball broadcast concludes, Georgia 101.7 FM will immediately join the Cook Out Southern 500 in progress.
Darlington has earned a reputation as one of NASCAR’s most challenging tracks, where drivers must manage their equipment while racing inches from the outside wall for hundreds of miles.
