Residents in western Gordon County may notice an increased law enforcement presence, including K-9 units and helicopters, as officers take part in a training seminar in the area.
The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday afternoon that it had been notified of a law enforcement training seminar taking place on property off Old Rome-Dalton Road.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the exercise may involve law enforcement officers from other jurisdictions in addition to K-9 teams and helicopters.
The training is scheduled to continue Tuesday, September 15.
Officials released the information to make residents aware that the increased law enforcement activity in the area is connected to a planned training exercise.
